The product is great and manages to light the music on a music stand, without producing glare for the player and audience. Neat and practical.Can be used with standard AAA batteries OR with a plug top power supply. BUT if you fit rechargeables . . they cannot be charged from the plug top, they must be charged separately from the product.The instructions are ok, but as the button is pressed the light levels do not go LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH, OFFThey go HIGH, MEDIUM, LOW and OFF.

Really like the size and brightness but unfortunately one of the lights won’t switch on,

I took it on a residential course and found it was also invaluable in my bedroom where no bedside light / light switch was provided. I've also used it as a tent light when camping.In my bedroom, I was able to run the light off the mains, as the cable provided is of a decent length. On my music stand and in my tent, when there is no handy electric socket, I use batteries to run it.I don't understand people complaining that it is not rechargeable. If you want a rechargeable light, buy a rechargeable light!! I much prefer this arrangement. I can run it off the mains; or I can fit whatever type of battery I prefer. I use rechargeable batteries. When those batteries go flat, I can immediately swap in a fully charged set. (When camping, I take several spare fully charged sets with me. And I suppose that in an emergency, I could always use "normal" batteries ...) If the light itself were rechargeable, then once it went flat I'd be plunged into darkness until such time as I could get somewhere with an electricity supply, and then I'd have to wait several hours for the light to recharge. How inconvenient!!! Plus, of course, when the rechargeable batteries eventually reach the end of their life and stop working, I can buy more and continue to use my light- it distresses me having to throw out perfectly good items (mobile phones, bike lights, cordless drills, cordless vacuum cleaners, etc) just because their batteries have expired, and their manufacturers care more about maximising their own profits by selling new tools rather than thinking about the planet and selling new batteries. On that same thought: the charging cable is a standard USB charging cable - so if / when it stops working, it's easy to find a replacement.If I have a criticism of this light, it's that it comes without a storage case. It arrives tightly wound and packed into a tiny square box. Perfect for delivery - but I'd fear for the longevity of the wiring if constantly folding and unfolding the flexible necks. Yet for the same reason, I don't want the lamp rolling round inside my music bag unprotected. Fairly easily solved by using some scrap material to sew a little fabric bag, which I've lined with some thin but stiff protective foam taken from other packaging.

We had low expectations of this when ordering, but the light is far better and more powerful than others we have had.A very useful feature is the individual selectable output switch for each light. This gives several options including the ability to use just one light or bothThe long flexible arms are also good and stable so it could easily be used to share. The clip is also strong and could hold on a variety of mounting options.We have an unusual use for this light, as we needed something to illuminate the air conditioner control panel on the lower part of the dash on our vehicle at night, due to it having no backlighting. This works perfectly for that, and saves the passenger from turning on the cab lights to see. Would also be a nice reading light when camping.
