I liked it. It's a bit small but it does a useful job. Overpriced as many USA products are these days. I did find similar performance in a Chinese clino compass that was over £100 cheaper. It is better than a Suunto for slopes dip and strike measurement but the north point is accurate whereas the cheaper Chinese ones didn't feel right for authoritative compass directions.

It's been nearly 15 years since I've used a standard Brunton compass so I wanted to see how this newer lightweight and compact model fares. It really does feel much smaller and more fragile than the standard Brunton with its harder case. This smaller GeoLite seems perfect for light duty work or quick checks of previous measurements. It's also just a fraction of the cost of the standard compass so this might be an easier buy for a geology student or as a backup. Like others have said, the red legends can be hard to read but other than that it seems like a solid budget compass.

The reason I only gave this three stars is because of the readability. I realize my eyes 👀 aren’t what they used to be, but I found taking rudimentary readings almost requires a magnifying lens. The numbers and hash marks are incredibly small. Portability and light weight are excellent though.
