This vibration plate is a little smaller than the current Amazon pictures portray, but that isn’t a bad thing. It is a very simple device and easy to operate. Put your floor tile in place on a decent bed, then place the suction pad centrally on the tile, pull the lower handle and it grips the tile. Then start the vibration plate. The vibrations cause the tile to bed down and if necessary, you can control levelling by adding a little leverage or weight. I did a dry run with some old tiles on a rough floor and it took a bit of betting used to. I have used vibration plates in the past, but this was more for compaction than precision levelling. With this there was an initial tendency to sink quickly, but with a levelling system and a low speed vibration I got the hang of it soon enough. It is better than tapping with a rubber mallet and less likely to crack a tile, but you may still need to nudge more stubborn spots. There are 8 vibration intensities, and I favoured the lower end with a wetter bed. With dryer beds the higher settings may be more benefit as that can really rattle your teeth. The lowest setting is a bit like a sports massager with the higher ones getting more intense. The suction cup is great for lifting a tile into place, but I wouldn’t make a habit of it as there is a risk of it dropping off. It grips well on smooth tiles, but you could lose suction on textured. If there are deeper grooves, suction is unattainable, but can still be used to bed.My initial impressions were not great, the soft case with foam insert is cheaply made, but it is better than nothing. The batteries (if battery option chosen) feel like cheap plasticky knock offs, I doubt they will last long. If you have Makita batteries then go for the cheaper no battery option.Despite the initial impression being poor, the plate itself has a decent look and feel to it. It is functional and does the job. Ideal if you have a number of tiling jobs to do.

I actually got this device because I needed to be able to lift some floor tiles, and the suction plate is just what I needed. At the moment I have no need for the levelling facilities, so I haven't gone out and bought a battery. The tool itself seems pretty well made , and, on our bathroom tiles, the suction plate is very sturdy, the tool hands on the wall when it is set, and it won't pull off, so it will be perfect for lifting my loose tiles; I have tried other actual tile lifters which were hopeless at the task.I will buy a battery once I get around to relaying the loose floor tiles. My only qualm with this item is that it was a second as it had clearly been well used by somebody else and then sent out. If you had purchased this, you would be sending it back. You may wonder why I am still giving it four stars when I received a used product. The reason is, that it is fulfilled by Amazon, so this is not the manufacturers fault, and probably an isolated case.

My knock-off Makita batteries work well with this tool, and it feels nicely constructed. It offers a wide range of vibration settings, going all the way up to some that really pack a punch. The suction disc holds on to tiles quite tenaciously. If you have gloves that dampen vibration, I’d recommend wearing them as it becomes a bit tiring after a while.

I used it already for 60x60 tiles and managed to put about 100 square meters of floor. It is a useful tool and it is compatible with Makita batteries that I already had.
