Very fast, filled a 25gb Blu-ray in the time it took to brush my teeth! I was expecting it to take much longer as when I pressed “burn” the software I was using (Toast, M2 Mac, Sequoia) warned me that it might take a long time to fill a 25gb disk, so check computer won’t go to sleep while burning, but it only took about 10 minutes, writing & validating. I wanted an external drive I could use on multiple devices, Mac/Linux, but the portable ones looked delicate and were expensive, so I bought this internal drive and bought a case for it that converts SATA to USB 3 and provides power (search “powered SATA to USB optical drive caddy/enclosure). That way I got a beefier drive for less money. It is NOT QUIET in this configuration though, it’s probably quieter built in to a PC, but I bought it for archiving and backups, not watching movies, so it doesn’t matter to me. Just place it on something soft to absorb the vibrations. MacOS Sequoia on Apple Silicon Macs seems to have tried to erase all existence of optical drives, but the code is still there, and you can still buy the software (Roxio Toast). I couldn’t figure out how to do it though Finder, but I’m impatient so bought software!

Ich hatte schon 2 Laufwerke von diesem Typ an verschiedenen Rechnern und war (bin) sehr zufrieden!Hatte mir daher noch eine 3. bestellt, das leider defekt war. Rückgabe kein Problem! Habe mir dann eines bei Otto bestellt, weil es um ca. 10,- € günstiger ware. Bisher immer auf LG geschworen, aber vielleicht ist es Zeit, die Ansicht zu ändern. Sehr zufrieden!
