So, at first, I thought this was a ridiculously priced jammer for my son’s swim team efforts that I was glad to be able to get on my Amazon testing program and then I did some research. This is actually Arena’s newest entry level tech suit and it is awesome. These suits use Italian racing fabric that has a hydrophobic coating that resists water and helps with glide. These are not as good as their best technical suits but they are close and perfect for kids like mine that are racing at a high level but not elite. You can see the suit turn white under water as it resists the pool water. It just glides through the pool. These suits are snug and run small as they are supposed to. Go up if in between. Otherwise, this is an awesome entry into the tech suit space at a “reasonable price.”

I know racing suits are supposed to be tight and compressive - but even then this suit ended up being too small. The size 22 shows 21-22 inch waist and 23.5-25 inch hips. Laying flat, the suit is barely more than 6" across - and when stretched as much as I could, was barely 10" across. The fabric has very little stretch, and both the waist and legs have rubber grippers to keep it in place. There is a drawstring waist as well. So it seems really well made, and the fabric feels good for a competitive suit. I am not sure why it specifies it is not racing compliant, and for this price would really expect it to be. So while I am impressed with the quality, make sure to double check sizing and likely size up, and for the price, see if your child can actually use this for meets.

I ordered a size 28 US, the largest size, expecting a 28 inch waist. Received trunks labeled 28 but the trunks only measured 22" waist (11" wide overall) and tiny legs (5.5" wide). Much less stretch than ordinary spandex. He couldn't even get it past his knees. The sizing chart inexplicably lists a size 28 as only 25" waist but they still managed to undersize even that by 3 full inches. It lists the hip size for 28 as 31.5" which is nowhere close to what was delivered.

My son, 12 loved the feel and shaping of these jammers. Thankfully even though it’s winter here he has access to a heated pool to practice. He was thrilled the try these new jammers and loved the style and fit of them. They’re tight, but that’s how they’re supposed to fit. He told me while doing laps that the suit held up perfectly and felt streamlined on his body. He was also a fan of the black and teal colors since he doesn’t like to wear flashy suits.

I chose this swimsuit for my son, hoping it would aid his swimming speed during lessons. The material appears durable and tightly woven, suggesting potential performance benefits. However, the fit was excessively tight, causing significant discomfort. My son refused to wear it after trying it on once, stating it was too constricting. While I believe that, with adaptation, it could enhance swimming performance, it's not suitable for beginners or those not accustomed to such tight swimwear. It's essential to ensure comfort to encourage consistent practice and enjoyment in swimming.
