Edit: My review has been rejected many times now for no given or apparent reason, so I'm now seeing if removing most of my 'fitted' photographs allows it through.The removed photos showed this fitted to a modified (Airsoft) APS CAM 870. It has a non-standard AR stock/grip adapter, which this HOUSON folding attachment fits perfectly.For reference, the tube thread measures 28.75mm (1.13") internally and 29.75mm (1.17") externally.For those unaware, these AR-style stocks typically screw into the rear of the receiver and secure with a castle nut. This HOUSON folding adapter sits between the receiver and stock, adding a folding mechanism to a normally static stock. It locks into the fully open and fully closed positions with a detent and spring.Note that a castle nut spanner is not supplied, and you'll need one to securely fit this.While in the extended/full position, it sits very securely with no wobble. There is a chunky detent into which it sits when 'open'. Unfortunately in the folded position there is considerable vertical wobble. The tolerances on the hinge pin/barrel are not great.After only two folds/locks I've noticed the black finish is coming away. More than that, the (apparently quite soft) aluminium is wearing away where the two halves contact; there's a cam-like mechanism that will wear quickly unless you are very careful to fully depress the spring before folding/unfolding the stock.I have a G&G LR300 which has a very similar hinged stock system; but that's made of steel and is basically indestructible. This is not. If you do skirmish this part, you'll need to baby the thing when folding/unfolding the stock to avoid destroying it in short order.Overall the finish is... acceptable for the money. Various rough edges are to be expected at this price.

Der HOUSON AR Folding Stock Adapter macht auf den ersten Blick einen soliden Eindruck. Die Verarbeitung ist hochwertig, und das Aluminium fühlt sich robust an. Doch sobald es an den praktischen Einsatz geht, stößt man leider auf einige technische Einschränkungen.Wenn du vorhast, den Adapter an einer Airsoft M4 SAEG zu nutzen, solltest du wissen, dass es hier Probleme geben kann. Bei vielen M4 SAEGs sitzt der Akku im Schaft, und wenn du diesen Adapter montierst, schauen die Kabel hinten heraus, was nicht nur unschön aussieht, sondern auch zu Kabelbrüchen führen kann.Auch bei einer GBB M4 ist der Adapter nicht wirklich brauchbar, da die Rückholfeder in der Buffer Tube Platz braucht. Der Adapter blockiert hier also die Funktion der Waffe.Bei AK-Modellen könnte es funktionieren, solange der Akku nicht im Schaft sitzt. Das habe ich allerdings nicht weiter ausprobiert, da mein Fokus auf anderen Waffen liegt.Ich habe den Adapter schließlich genutzt, um mir eine M14 zu customizen, und dafür funktioniert er bisher einwandfrei. Wer also spezifische Anforderungen hat oder diesen Adapter für ein ähnliches Projekt nutzen möchte, kann damit zufrieden sein. Für viele Standardanwendungen, besonders bei Airsoft M4s, gibt es jedoch besser passende Lösungen.

Ich habe diesen Adapter für meinen Donau Odin Stahl 2 gekauft, um den Klappschaft leichter transportieren zu können. Grundsätzlich ist der Adapter ordentlich verarbeitet, jedoch aufgrund der Tatsache, dass er aus Aluminium gefertigt ist ist sich durch den Betrieb doch erhebliche Kräfte auswirken, tritt doch erheblicher Verschleiß auf. Zudem ist der Adapter für meinen Geschmack etwas zu instabil ausgeführt. Deshalb verwende ich ihn nicht mehr - für die Verwendung im Airsoft Bereich sicherlich geeignet, aber leider nicht ab 9mm Luger.

The "official" purpose of this device is to allow owners of certain rifles to add a folding stock to their firearm. For example when playing airsoft, or leaping heroically from helicopters. But, as a cosplay and prop maker that's not quite my plan for this handy little object.Yes, I will still be used to create folding stocks for rifles etc. But this won't be used for real world rifles.Instead I'll be using this for sci-fi blasters and and similar kinds of things.A job this will do nicely because it's made from solid aluminium. Which is incredibly durable, lightweight and above all prop-maker proof.I also know it will be easy to attach to a variety of materials. From plastics to metals to wood. Then, because it's so solid, I know this will last me a long time. So I can easily reuse it for other projects.
