Constant loud high pitch noise. Worse when power lowered via its own controller. Shame

Looks fancy has a fancy controller but the pump itself is rubbish, there are matchbox sized pumps that cost £5 and use less than half the wattage and have the same flow rate. This pump worked for a week then stopped due to becoming full of weed, took apart to clean impeller put back together still won’t start, took apart another 3 times and would start if you flicked the impeller but every time I turned it off to put bottom back on it won’t start, if this had been running a year I’d understand it would need a clean around where the impeller base sits but after a week this shouldn’t happen so can’t recommend

I actually got this for my first aquarium build, and wanted something which would create a current in the tank. I hadn't even considered using this to drain the tank (doh!) so what a huge bonus! If placed downwards as per the image, you can get super low to drain almost all of the water in the tank.It comes with two hose attachments also so you can use your own hose (not supplied) to drain the tank, to supply a water feature, or create a current in your tank somewhere other than where the pump is.It is super tiny and to be honest while its completely adequate for the size tank it is intended for, I'd recommend going for the biggest you can afford and dialing it back to future proof - unless size is an issue in your tank.It uses low voltage DC current which is good for safety reasons. The controller is handy and so is the feeding function so you can pause the pump for 10minutes while you feed your fish and don't suck all of the fish feed up through the pump. The small suction feet work well at holding it to the tank but it's a (small) shame you have to assemble this yourself. There's no filter as such on the item, just a plastic grid to protect the motor so be careful of sucking up debris and damaging it. Looks like 4 screws and it opens up for cleaning. You can plug it straight into the power and bypass the controller if you want which I am sure is handy for someone - maybe with a smart plug who wants to control it remotely? It's a nice little item that seems powerful and super quiet - you can barely hear it!Thumbs up from me.

I have this to help with water changes on my aquariums. Instead of using buckets and pour it in that way causing pain and stress on my back i bring the water near by drop this in and it does all the heavy lifting for me. The flow is strong and the fact you can change it on the remote is a huge plus.

I've got a few pond areas in my rear garden and recently I built a small nature pond for the various aquatic animals to come and populate it. however it's became a bit stagnant and needed some form of aeration to help keep the water healthy. I got this pump especially for the job and it has worked wonders. As the pond was near my garden shed which has a power source I was able to run the 10ft cord into the shed. The pump is capable of creating quite a bit of power however it also has a simple control system to able able to adjust the flow and I have mine set on the lowest setting with the fountain tube just breaking the surface. this provides just the correct amount of movement in the water to keep the water aerated and healthy. The pump is very quiet and you can hardly notice a sound from it at all. It has a run-dry protection system in built so I don't need to worry should the pond dry up for some reason or the pump just not get water. This is a great little pump that is easy to set up and works very well. I recommend this pump.
