Perfect for sharing keyboard, mouse and one screen between one modern laptop and desktop PC.Modern thin and light laptops can suffer from lack of USB connectivity and neither do you want to be plugging and unplugging a set of cables every time you place or remove the laptop. As long as laptop has USB C this is a great solution.Bit of cabling is required to get you started - plug the existing HDMI monitor , keyboard and mouse into the KVM switch.One USB C cable ( provided ) between the laptop and the Anker USB 3.0 HDMI switch is all that is required here to make use of keyboard, mouse and screen.HDMI and USB ( cables provided ) from the Desktop is connected to the KVM switch and can use the provided wired remote control switch to change between using the desktop and using the laptop.The Anker USB 3.0 KVM Switch provides additional connectivity, which I have not yet used, for sharing other USB devices, such as USB stick, or indeed Audio via 3.5mm jack.

Es hat mich einiges Herumprobieren gekostet, bis ich meinen Monitor dazu gebracht habe, das Bild vom MacBook korrekt anzuzeigen. Dafür musste ich den Farbraum auf YUV fixieren (default bei meinem Monitor ist "Auto" - damit "ruckelt" das Bild allerdings die ganze Zeit. Was NICHT passiert, wenn man den selben Monitor direkt verbindet!). Auf die Idee muss man erstmal kommen. Deshalb und weil das Umschalten tatsächlich ziemlich langsam ist, 1 Stern Abzug.Ansonsten funktioniert bisher alles wie es soll.

This hub/switch is perfect for desktop + laptop setup. It ticks all the checks:- Power Delivery and USB-C video for the laptop- HDMI and USB for the desktop- Slick magnetic remote- Plenty USB ports- Not passive (laptop doesn't have to be on to wake it up)I did have a couple problems, but fixed all of them and none was a problem with this hub/switch:- Slow switching between PC and laptop was due to laptop's sleep mode settings. Disabling sleep on closed lid made the switching super quick and reliable.- Intermittent connection (very visible in `dmesg`) was caused by a faulty USB-C cable. Replacing it with a reasonably inexpensive new one from Cable Matters fixed the issue.- Mouse failing to reconnect after switch was due to Logitech memory settings - switching it to "chip mode" fixed the issue.

I don't understand the hate in some of these reviews. This KVM does one thing and it does it well. If you have an existing desktop computer with a normal screen and normal USB accessories, and you have a modern work laptop with a fully featured USB port, this lets you connect everything nicely with no drama.There are a few really nice touches:1. The magnetic switching button is great and lets you stuff the switch itself somewhere inconspicuous2. USB-C PD input is fantastic -- if your laptop is modern, no separate power adapter needed, just use what came with the laptop3. Will charge your laptop while you're using your desktop4. Comes with exactly the cables you need. Including both a C-to-C and a high-speed C-to-A cable is brilliant, and exactly what I needed in my particular application as my desktop doesn't have USB-C ports. Buying these cables alone would cost £15, so really nice they are included here. Also great to see the included HDMI cable, which would have been another £5

It does what it says. Some buyers didn't read the description properly. This is for one laptop + one desktop, only PC1 has the power delivery, and you will need to plug in the hdmi cable for PC2, which should be the desktop pc.

Overall, I have a laptop and a desktop. Setup was easy and it does the job well. The only reason for four stars instead of five is because the switching between the two machines takes like two seconds. Overall, it's a great little device.

Für die gemeinsame Nutzung von Notebook und PC der ideale KVM-Switch. Anschlüsse sind ausreichend vorhanden. Lediglich kleinere Fehler stören das Gesamtbild. Zum Beispiel werden angeschlossene USB-Geräte weiterhin mit Strom versorgt ob die USB-Ports bei den Geräten stromlos sind. Als Workaround hilft nur das Umschalten auf das andere angeschlossene Gerät. Nicht so toll. Angesichts des doch stolzen Preises darf so ein Designfehler nicht vorkommen.
