Boom stand came with a completely different base then pictured. I suspect that the supplier's supplier changed the base style and no one knows or cares. The apparently "new style" base is a square flat piece of steel which appears larger in area but lighter in weight. Exactly what I wasn't looking for in a microscope boom stand. You have been warned.

Mon microscope est d'une qualité supérieure ,tout de métal, il va me servir longtemps. Je suis à me pratiquer à la soudure en SMD et ma vue fatiguait; ce ne sera plus un problème à présent.

A very heavy duty design which should last many years if friction points are kept properly oiled. I did make some small improvements to the swivel head retaining screw and I trimmed the plastic bumper of the ring clamping knob to ensure years of reliable operation, but other than that it's a very nice piece indeed! Highly recommended.

When they say heavy duty, that's what they mean. I didn't weigh it, but your scope's not going to fall over if properly secured in this stand. All of the arm articulations are smooth.

this stand works fine and fit my need. The potential improvement can be done is to make the moving of arm more smooth or easy. Thanks.
