it's always difficult to tell how thick/well made something is through photos alone, but this buckle has a pleasant heft to it, and if anything, the loop is slightly longer than I expected it to be.

I would have liked it better if it had a bright polished finish, instead of a flat finish .

This product is what it appears, a solid buckle that works with leather belts. It was a gift from my sweetheart. My only complaint is that it is not a lower profile.I mean to say, one side (The side with the bar that attaches to the belt) is really thick, so it does not lay flat on the body. The side that goes into the belt holes, is much slimmer and as a result the right side of my belt buckle sticks out and it is visibly slanted.Otherwise it is seriously beautiful, and heavy duty, and useful in a fight.
