These forceps are a high quality, precision engineered tool. They operate smoothly, and by using them I'm able to pick up very small objects indeed, with great accuracy. They are pretty impressive, and a welcome addition to my precision modelling tool kit. The only improvement would be slightly larger finger loops, and I suspect they're designed around Asian anthropometric standards. They are still fully usable though, even if I can't get my fingers fully into the loops. The jaw is tiny, and I measure it at 6mm long and 0.5 mm wide, making this a sharp, pointy ended tool. Indeed, they come supplied with a rubber sleeve over the end, to prevent it from poking a hole in the bag that holds them, inside the box they are shipped in.Being a responsible reviewer I do feel obliged to raise a concern about the listing of this item though. As currently worded by the third party seller it risks giving the impression that this tool is suitable for use by the general public for removing ear wax. Nothing could be further from the truth! Here's the official NHS advice on ear wax removal, and I quote:"Important:Do not use your fingers or any objects like cotton buds to remove earwax. This will push it in and make it worse."Several members of my family are NHS doctors, and I showed one of them these forceps. Their reaction was horror at the idea of people poking this tool inside their ears. It is in fact a pair of Hartmann crocodile forceps, intended for use by surgeons and qualified ENT medics for foreign body removal. I'm advised that untrained use by the public would risk bodily injury and serious long term consequences, including perforation of your ear drum, hearing loss, infection, tinnitus, nausea and loss of balance. Basically your ear is exquisitely delicate and usually clears itself of wax naturally, but if you insist on trying to remove it the NHS advises you only do so using oil drops or warm water, in order to prevent injury. Amazon sells ear syringes, by the way.To recap: unless you are medically qualified, ** DO NOT PLACE THIS TOOL INSIDE ANYONES EAR **I'm delighted to own these forceps for my model making activities, and the tool itself is worthy of five stars, but with the ambiguity of the current listing I feel obligated to remove two of them.

I liked these and only got them because a few days earlier i had the end of a cotton bud come off deep in my ear. I got that out with tweezers but it wasn’t so easy. I’d have like to have had a pair of these, which are now in my home first aid kit. I like the delicacy of the engineering and think they could also be used for pulling splinters also, etc. Not cheap, but i liked them.

Forceps are far too sharp to be used within ear canal
