Not sure where this 8"x12" flat square is offered in this product listing, because it's nowhere to be found. Even when I click on the order it takes me to a different square with many other options.Regardless, it's what I received...in a padded envelope with zero protection. It is square and accurate, I verified that using multiple methods, which is a miracle considering how it was packed and how surprisingly thin it is. My digital calipers need new batteries, but it's roughly 1/8". That really limits it's usefulness and I'm honestly nervous about using it in a lot of situations because it just feels downright flimsy. If I would've paid $60 and received this I'd be returning it. Was expecting much more from this brand after hearing so much about it for years and how it's a competitor to the fancy red tools.Gave it 3 stars because it is square, easy to read, and not everyone is as rough on tools as I am.

This ruler arrived in perfect condition inside a padded envelope. It's a pretty sturdy ruler, but I was actually a bit surprised, as it seems it could easily have gotten bent during shipping, being shipped like it was. For some reason, and this is totally on me, I expected it to be larger than what actually arrived. Whenever I think woodworking tools, I expect them to be the size of my projects, desks, tables, chairs, and this IS a 12-inch by 8-inch ruler, about the size of a sheet of standard paper. Of course this is exactly how it is described, so I've included a photo with a banana for scale, just so no one else is caught off guard. I checked the ruler against all my other engineer grade rulers and its as accurate as any in both dimension and angle. I do like the fact that the numbers are clear, and the matte black coating isn't as reflective as many of my shiny metal rulers, so it makes it much easier to see when working outdoors in the sun. I'm not sure what else I can say, its 90-degree angle is as accurate as any ruler out there, its lightweight, and easy to read; what more could you want. Recommended.

Quite Straight to what it looks like to the untrained eye. I tested this against my granite slab, and it seems true to the point. I didn't see any bends or waves, divots or deviations in the product, so I think I can trust it as a straight edge. It's also fairly light and I like that the lines are crisp along with a center hole in the inner portion of the part. It gives it the ability to be utilized in a few different manners, which I find pretty key in my field. I think it's a good tool since it's lightweight and won't be too cumbersome due to that. It's also not so light that it feels pliable and easily bent under pressure, but it will give if you test it too deliberately. The surface of it is almost so flat that you could almost wring it to the surface of another equally smooth surface with a minimal tolerance.

This review is for the 8"x12" Woodraphic square. For the cost of this, I was expecting a precision square, but what I received was a basic carpenter's square. The photo used was a little misleading, but I see that it seems to be correct now, reflecting accurately what I received. The square itself is easy to read, with the white letters giving excellent contrast to the black finish on the square. That is, unfortunately, where the positive section of this review stops. This square isn't square. Over the span of its 12", it is over 1/16" out of square! I compared this square to my sub-$10 big box store branded carpenter square, which is, for practical purposes, square, and I'm not seeing the value in this for over 6X the cost. I inspected the packaging and there was no damage, and the square itself doesn't seem to show indications of abuse or damage; it's simply not square.Overall, I'm pretty disappointed in this, and I doubt that, based on this experience, I'd buy any more "precision" tools from this company.
