I got these as an alternative to wire brushes since both are powered by a cordless drill, for a project of removing the rust from a small iron dog statue in preparation for power-coating.What I liked: these are relatively coarse and do a great job on the rust - where it can get to it. My 18v cordless drill has no trouble powering these discs, I've gotten around 90% of the statue done, down to shiny bare metal.Where I had issues: because there's almost no flexibility to the discs, it's hard to get down into corners and crevasses, so for those parts it will be back to the wire brush (I'm trying to not use any chemical rust remover on the project, as a challenge).Sometimes little bits of the disc do fly off, but it has to be safer than a wire being flung from a spinning wire brush, I think?
