These are made from great looking wood, beautifully etched(?) I'm not sure how they were cut. I have a Tisas Turk manufactured 1911. The grip holes lined up fine but I had to relieve the diameters on the backside of the grips for them to lay flat. Another adjustment was to the top backside of the left hand grip where it goes over the spring tube that holds tension on the slide release and safety.None of the alterations affected the outer imagery of the grips and the only tools required were a couple mini files and sand paper.Speaking as a Texan, these grips not only look great, they feel good in the hand too. I highly recommend these to anybody looking for such things.

Didn't fit the pistol i punched forBought for Llama 1911 but didn't fit luckily I have another Colt 1911 and with minum sanding they fit and look great on my stainless series 70

These grips are magnificently beautiful but did not fit my Garsin 1911, it took 2 hours of gentle and careful work with drummel to realign the holes for the screws from the inside. Grips were too tall and definitely did not fit the ambidextrous thumb safety nor did it have the capability to adapt the right side safety lever extension. 2 hours of precarious work to make it work. Good idea to have at hand a set of screws with large head in case the holes are slightly larger… although I put in the time to make it work, I would NOT buy it again.. to stressful. The carving machine spins at several thousand rpm’s and easily eats wood… unless you are willing to throw the grips away, don’t try to make it fit..

Read the reviews before buying to be aware that these grips may or may not fit your 1911, and that you may have to modify them to make them fit, and that you may damage the grips while cutting or grinding them. I bought a pair of grips for a Remington 1911 R1 Enhanced, which would not fit as is. (The picture is of the left side grip and shows how much material needs to be removed) I contacted the seller about this issue and all I received was lip service. I should have returned them for a refund.

These grips look great once you trim them to a custom fit on your 1911s' frame. The grip set I received had to be trimmed down so the thumb safety had full travel to its down position. The opposite side needed some minor trim work to allow the mag release full travel when pressed. Once these minor mods where done I was able to install them flush to the frame. They look out standing on a high polished blued finish frame.
