Well made, tips match up and are ground to a very fine point. Sharp out of the box, just the tiniest light reflecting off the points indicating a very very small flat. And that is not such a bad thing in my book as the tips end up stronger and the lines slightly wider.I wanted them better though, so I polished them with a small felt wheel and polishing compound. It took a few seconds and now they are really sharp.One point is slightly longer, I’d guess at 0.5 mm. Again I’d call it an advantage (feature!) since I think it makes it easier to scribe a line parallel to an edge, so I left them like that.These are very minor subtleties so absolutely nothing to complain about. You are going to have to sharpen them (and all your other pointy stuff) sometime after all so you better learn how to do that, it goes with the territory so to speak. This is a lifetime tool.

I purchased the 3" dividers based on the fact that Starrett produces top quality tools. I have a lot of old Starrett tools and they are top quality, but this is just junk. One of the legs was bent so that the tip alignment looked right and there are rework marks that aren't even polished out. Also the the split pin to hold the threaded rod in was sticking out on one side.I sent these back to Amazon who gave me a refund. I have purchased another pair of dividers hoping that these will be the Starrett quality that the company was founded on. I am not sure that these are even produced in the USA anymore. These should not have passed through QA

Ich habe mir im Sommer einen Zirkel über AliExpress in China gekauft, dieser war auch nicht perfekt, aber er war gerade und hat mich knapp 7€ mit Versand gekostet. Er ist bis heute Stabil, aber für die Arbeit die ich machen will etwas zu groß.Dann habe ich mir gedacht, komm, kaufe doch einmal etwas Qualität, was ich dann auch gemacht habe. Starret war anscheinend in der Internetsuche ein Synonym für gutes Werkzeug. Aber über 40€ für so einen kleinen Zirkel, da überlegt man schon 2 mal.Gesagt getan und bestellt. Leider wurde ich absolut enttäuscht. Die Qualität ist bei weitem schlechter für 40€, als für den Zirkel aus China, der mit Versand nur 7€ gekostet hat.Nun meine Kritikpunkte und auch der Grund warum ich diesen Zirkel wieder zurück sende.1. Wie auf meinen Bildern zu sehen sind die Spitzen leider nicht aufeinander, diese liegen schräg nebeneinander.2. Die Spitzen selbst scheinen mit der Hand geschliffen zu sein, Auf den 2ten Bild gut erkennbar das diese unterschiedlich angeschliffen wurden. Die untere ist in Ordnung, die obere nicht.3. Die Stellschraube hackt ohne Ende man müsste diese schon mit Gewalt öffnen wenn der Abstand etwas größer werden sollte.Ja, ich habe in anderen Rezessionen gelesen das man sich selbst helfen konnte, indem man sich den Zirkel selbst zuschleift, das ist für mich aber keine Option bei dem Preis.Ich kann diesen Zirkel leider nicht empfehlen, für mich ist das einfach nur teurer Schrott.

El compás tiene muy buenos materiales y muy buen diseño. Sin embargo, como se aprecia en las fotos, las puntas no están paralelas. Una de ellas está rotada, y no un poco. Esto es algo que una marca como Starrett no puede permitirse. Son productos caros y se paga el precio por su calidad. Es la segunda vez que me sucede que un producto de Starrett llega con una calidad no digna de la marca y precio, y tengo que devolverlo. Cuando el producto llega sin problemas de calidad es un producto excepcional.

普通に使う分にはかなり高価な買い物ですが精度を求めると必要なので購入しました。某工具屋より安価なので助かりました。
