Die U.S.S. Defiant NX-74205 aus „Deep Space Nine“ hat eines der ungewöhnlichsten und einprägsamsten Schiffsdesigns der Sternenflotte in ganz „Star Trek“.Obwohl die Defiant im Maßstab 1:1000 eher klein ist, handelt es sich hierbei um ein sehr detailliertes Modell. Die einzelnen Bauteile passen gut zusammen und die Abziehbilder sind stabiler als bei einigen anderen Modellen (z.B. bei der U.S.S. Excelsior). Zusätzlich zu den sehr guten Abziehbildern für den Schiffsrumpf würde ich empfehlen, einige der Rumpfplatten von Hand zu bemalen. Das lässt den gepanzerten Rumpf der Defiant (Ablativpanzerung) noch authentischer wirken. Die Beleuchtung des Modells ist aufgrund der geringen Größe etwas schwierig, aber durchaus möglich. Man kann LED-Streifen (Innenbeleuchtung, Warptriebwerke), SMD-LEDs und dünne Glasfaser-Lichtleiter verwenden. Ein größerer Maßstab ist für eine Beleuchtung des Modells natürlich besser geeignet.Ich habe das Modell zum zweiten Mal gebaut und bin mit dem Ergebnis sehr zufrieden.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The U.S.S. Defiant NX-74205 from ‘Deep Space Nine’ has one of the most unusual and memorable ship designs of Starfleet in all of ‘Star Trek’.Although the 1/1000 scale Defiant is rather small, it is a very detailed model. The parts fit together well and the decals are more stable than on some other models (e.g. the USS Excelsior). In addition to the very good decals for hull painting, it is advisable to paint some of the hull panels by hand. This makes the armored hull of the Defiant (ablative armor) look even more authentic. Illuminating the model is somewhat difficult due to its small size, but it is possible. You can use LED strips (interior lighting, warp engine nacelles), SMD LEDs and thin fibre-optic light guides. A larger scale is of course more suitable for illuminating efforts.I have built the model for the second time, and I am very pleased with the result.

Schöner Bausatz entweder für Modellbau-Anfänger, Star Trek Fans oder beides. Der Bausatz lässt sich dank Snap-Kit leicht zusammen bauen. Der Detailgrad ist für den Maßstab 1/1000 ordentlich.

Tuvieron un pequeño retraso en la entrega pero el artículo llegó en perfecto estado. Está muy bien detallado, tiene preferencia por las calcomanías más que por el pintado del modelo y puedes armarlo aún sin pegamento.

Die Snap it Modelle von Polar Lights sind top. Zusammengebaut ist die Defiant super und ist ein wahrer Blickfang in der Vitrine. Selbst mit wenig Geschick sollte es jedem gelingen ein zufriedenstellendes Ergebnis zu erzielen. Verpackung und Versand waren super. Bestellt und am nöchsten Tag schon geliefert.

I just got back into model building, and I decided to get this one because I missed building model star ships. This one is a very quick build, great for a first kit, but detailed enough to look good for display.No paint required but if you are good at painting you can make it a very good looking model.I am not so great at painting but I am working on it, so to that end I decided to do mine up with WWII style D-Day stripes and tiger teeth. It was all freehand so not the best paint job. Again, none required for this model, just me being silly.5 stars, Model is as advertised, at no point was there any frustration about parts not fitting, or breaking, or other stupid stuff, a good quality beginner model kit.Only thing I would note is the clear plastic parts for engines are clear and not color tinted, thin layer of paint on the interior side will make it look decent, if you are inclined you could rig it up with LED lights pretty easy too.
