Really great toy to entertain my pup. I got size large for my Jack Russell and it’s really good

Update: 2020, four years later and still going strong! It hasn't even really aged past the initial scratches. It washes up in the dishwasher as well. My guy is a senior fellow now and won't go for walks, but he'll still push this around until it's empty. So it his only exercise and he loves it. I highly recommend this item! My best doggy toy purchase of all time. I love this for young or old, dog enrichment, stimulation, to slow down fast eater. It's the best.Update:2016, Love this so much bought the large for my friend's 70 lb lab puppy... its been a hit with both of our dogs. Durable and still after months their daily favorite. I know when its dinner time as my guy gets it and rolls it around.Best dog toy ever!I have a mini dachshund and this is exactly what I have been looking for. My guy is a rescued show/stud and he never learned to play. But he loves food, so this is a win win for us. It gives him mental stimulation and exercise and he had a blast. I laughed so hard as I could see him figuring it out. It's just big enough that can carry it a little bit to get out of tight corners (by the opening) but not so large that he can bite down and possibly break it or his few remaining teeth... :'( bad breeder! But he has me now so life is good and I'll be using this for all his meals. Now only if I can find where it got to! LolIt is easy to clean and no moving bits like the cat treat dispenser balls that get gummed up and nasty. I might have to buy a few more so don't have to search under the bed first thing in the morning ... lol!It was easy enough to adjust the opening to fit his kibble. I do recommend that you go slow in the trimming here thought. But even if it was too large the ball is egg shaped so nothing comes out if it is just rolled. It isn't until they get it really going and or trying to work it out of a jamb that the holes (one on either end) will let a bit fall out. This will hold a days meals, it is really quite large, but I feed him two divided meals and snacks daily so there is room to spare if you were wondering!

Our dog weighs 10,5 kg and now that the cold season is coming on and our schedules are getting more hectic, I was looking for a variety of different food dispensing toys that could keep him busy between my appointments, and especially during feeding time. We generally let our dog find his food in the grass; it's a great way to feed. But with the winter coming on we won't have the chance to keep the door open and let him just feed for 40 minutes while we leave for work. So, I was looking for dispensers that have a variety of difficulties. The egg has a high difficulty grade. At first, our dog was pretty frustrated, and didn't have much interest, but now here is how we can rate the product:1.) cut out as many "teeth" as you need, but gradually, until the dog has learned how to handle the egg AND get the rewards for his effort.2.) you have to fill it up with more food in the beginning to get the first success rates. Later, the amount doesn't matter.3.) the dog needs time to learn that, unlike with his normal rubber ball dispenser, it takes more than pushing this egg around with your nose. We actually demonstrated FOR the dog, that it DOES work. He got it. He's smart, anyway. Once he put in more effort, we were able to stop cutting teeth to make the holes bigger, and now he's got 30 to 40 minutes of feeding time with his normal dose of food. This one's a good one, but it's important to work with dog to prove that the work does pay off.

Already bought our dog the Buddy that has a rope hanging out of it in the shape of a bottle which he loves but he worked out how to get the maximum amount of treats out very quickly and decided to get him this for Christmas. He loves this just as much as the other Buddy but this one takes a bit more effort to get the treats out of because of its egg shape which means that it does not roll straight and the treats generally do not fall straight out when pushed along the ground. Treats come out of both of the ends and the plastic teeth inside can be trimmed if the treats it dispenses are quite large but we didn't have to do this as we put a portion of his food in for him to work at while we are at work. He can just about pick it up,he is a large GSD,but hasn't broken it as the plastic parts of the toy are well covered with a rubber cage . A bit fiddly to do back up once you have put food inside and takes a while to get it into the groove where you can do it back up but apart from that this is a worthwhile toy to keep him equally amused and frustrated to the point where he knocks it against my legs as he knows I will kick it away and as I do treats come spilling out, sly!

Toller Futterball.
