One of the items you have to purchase to protect your props. I have a twin prop setup, so loosing them is a $1200.00 loss. No brainer for every boat owner....especially if you store your boat offsite.

I have put it on and off 1x, and the nut that goes on the boat is already showing signs of wear. The key tool is steel, the part of the nut that engages the tool (and goes on the prop) is brass or bronze, very soft, you have to be EXTREMELY careful to make sure the key is engaged and does not slip even a little bit. I cannot imagine being able to put the thing on and off more than 4-5 times before it became unusable, hopefully this would happen when it was not locking your prop to the boat. It does seem to fit securely, for all I know the soft metal may be a feature rather than a bug, as it would likely prevent someone from just sticking steel rods in to engage the lock without the key, since that would chew the brass up pretty fast. If you have an application where you need to change the props I would not suggest this.

Locked my props on a 2006 Brovo III IO with the loss of the cone anoid, I lift my boats so it is not an issue for me

This is a well built and sturdy lock system that is easy to install and use. The key is designed to stay in the socket of the removal wrench so holding it in place is not an issue. I enjoy not having to worry that I will come out to the boat and find my expensive dual SS props missing while the boat is in storage.
