Realmente me ha impresionado el escáner DS940W.Escanea francamente bien, muy fácilmente, rápido y muy silencioso.Antes tenía una impresora multifuncón y ya estaba harto de su tamaño y de tener que estar comprando cartuchos cada dos por tres, por lo que decidí comprar este escáner y una impresora portátil térmica que no utiliza tinta.El DS940W es más rápido y mucho más silencioso que la impresora multifunción y además escanea por 2 caras a la vez.Tengo un Mac de la serie M1 y no me ha dejado instalar el software Print&Scan de Brother ya que no está certificado para el MacOS Sequoia, y hay que hacerlo instalando la app de la appStore.Hay otra app independiente para configurar el Wifi, aunque al final lo he hecho por WPS que es muy sencillo.Ahora escaneo desde “Impresoras y scanner” del propio sistema operativo del Mac con todas las funciones y de una forma sencilla ¡Y sin ningún cable!Con el iPhone funciona estupendamente a través de la app “Print&Scan” de Brother.¡Una auténtica maravilla!

Funktioniert super , verschieden Auflösungen, einfach zu bedienen,Akku nur über PC ladbar , aber PC läuft ja sowieso meist, also kein Problem !

Ein ehrliches Stück Hardware wie aus einer anderen Zeit - robust und durchdacht, mit viel Funktionalität, kein Cloud-Zwang oder Bloatware.Installation ist etwas sperrig, aber ich habe schliesslich alle Betriebsarten:- per USB Kabel am PC- per Wifi am Mobiltelefon- autark auf SD-Kartean's Laufen bekommen.Grund für den Kauf war es, schnell und komfortabel doppelseitige Dokumente zu scannen - scannen kann mein Multifunktionsdrucker auch, aber weder schnell noch beidseitig oder komfortabel.Pro:- Kompakt und robust- Viele Betriebsarten- Brauchbare Zugabesoftware wie Paperport und Power PDF incl. Key- Kein Registrierungs- und Cloud-ZwangKontra:- Laden der Batterie (lt. Reddit) nur am Rechner-USB- mit dem heimischen Wifi verbinden war etwas umständlich (über's Mobiltelefon)

Kan ook geheel zonder snoeren en zonder verbindingen werken. Slaat scan op SD kaart op. Laadt interne batterij wel alleen op via laptop USB A uitgang of Monitor USB A uitgang. Heeft wel zeldzame Micro USB B 3.0 stekker ingang. Kabel wel meegeleverd.

It is a nice and compact scanner instead of a big flatbed or multiprinter option. Can scan like one 1200x1200dpi document while connected to computer then it runs out of memory. But lower dpi settings are still solid, not sure what dpi you get with SD card option but nice solution to have.Can be a bit wonky with document feed and say "papper stuck" when it clearly is not. Can happen a few times but easy to just plop it up and then close it again even though I would rather not need to do that.Still a small and compact unit that gets the job done with some quirks :)

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem Einzugsscanner um diverse historische Fotos und Dokumente schnell zu scannen mit hoher Auflösung. Dabei bin ich auf diesen Brother-Scanner gestoßen der mich sofort überzeugte mit seiner Hardware-Scanauflösung von 600ppi (1200ppi interpoliert). Wichtig war mir aber auch die schnelle Reinigung des Scanglases, da besonders alte Dokumente und Papierfotos sehr fransen und die Fussel verteilen. Durch einfaches Hochklappen der oberen Sensoreinheit, lässt sich der Scanner mit einem fusselfreien Tuch reinigen, einfach top!Hier die Vor- und Nachteile im direkten Vergleich:Vorteile:- Hohe Auflösung von 600ppi- schnelle Reinigung- Scan auf Speicherkarte oder via Smartphone- lange Akkulaufzeit- reaktiv einfache Softwaresuite- viele EinstellmöglichkeitenNachteile:- dickeres Fotopapier neigt zu sprunghaften, leichten Knicken, dadurch Verzerrungen im Bild- 1200ppi Auflösung ist nur interpoliert- Software nur 32Bit, dadurch streikt die Software schnell bei mehrseitigen Scans in 1200ppi Auflösung- Grundeinstellung des Scanners nur über Netzwerkkonfiguration einstellbarIch bin, trotz der genannten Nachteile, sehr zufrieden mit dem Scanner da für mich die Vorteile überwiegen. Ein Stern Abzug gibt's aber trotzdem, wenn die Software auf 64 Bit angepasst wird, dann stehen dem fünften Stern nicht mehr viel im Wege.Anbei zwei Scans: einmal ein historisches Foto aus den 1990er und das andere aus einem alten Prospekt.

Der Scanner ist kompakt und passt, sollte das nötig werden, problemlos in die Aktentasche für unterwegs. Ich persönlich nutze ihn fast ausschließlich zuhause, da ich keinen Bedarf an einem platzfressenden Flachbettscanner habe, aber manchmal eben doch Dokumente einscannen will.Das Scannen am PC oder über Wifi mit der zugehörigen Handy-App klappt ganz hervorragend. Hier gibt es gute Einstellmöglichkeiten und auch bspw. die Funktion, mehrere Dokumente hintereinander zu scannen und gleich zu einem einzelnen PDF zusammenzufassen, was sehr praktisch ist. Der Scanner kann dank zweier Scaneinheiten in einem Durchgang beidseitig scannnen, was ich für ein schlaues Feature halte. Die Geschwindigkeit ist zügig und die Bedienung intuitiv.Das Gerät lässt sich dank integriertem Akku auch ohne PC benutzen, vorausgesetzt, man legt eine Micro-SD-Karte ein. Dann ist man allerdings auf die Einstellungsmöglichkeiten der Knöpfe auf der Oberseite beschränkt. Für 99 % meiner Fälle war das allerdings genug. Lediglich den Akku finde ich etwas klein bemessen, denn dieser ist schnell leer. Das Starten bzw. das Umschalten zwischen den Modi geht etwas träge vonstatten, aber wenn der Scanner läuft, funktioniert alles flüssig.Wer auf das Scannen abseits eines PCs mit USB-Anschluss verzichten kann, hat die Möglichkeit, zum "kleineren" Modell ohne Akku zu greifen, das entsprechend ein gutes Stück günstiger ist.

I was fully prepared to be shipping this unit back if it did not live up to expectations but it is staying with me. I’ve had a number of portable document scanners over the years with a varying degree of success with each. I did a great deal of research into this type of scanner prior to ordering which included the ScanSnap, Doxie, canon and Fujitsu equivalent models.I am a prolific archivist and detest paper so any paperwork given to me gets scanned in and stored electronically. With the MFD shortage brought on by covid I struggled to get a worthy replacement MFD for home with an ADF when the ADF on my Canon just wore out.Over the recent year my job has changed to that of a more flexible worker either from the Office, home or client sites so a portable unit that can be added to my office in a rucksack was the best fit.Anyway enough about my situation.This unit can scan to a machine over USB, Wi-Fi and via a memory card you insert into the back of the device. Whilst the memory card does not petrude it would be nice if there was a clip or cover over it to stop it from being accidentally ejected. This may after all contain sensitive information or the remains of sensitive information after deletion.Scanning to the memory card is OK and just OK. Each page is saved as a separate document, even when selected PDF and 2 Sided each side will be safed as a separate document and not combined. You just put another piece of paper in the feeder and it scans and saves. There I no method, that I have found documented to continue a scan to the memory card into one file. The scans require assembly into a single file after the fact in the included software. I use this feature only for documents of one page. Only when there is no other practicable choice do I use this for multipage scans as it is a bit of a ball ache. Quite why they didn’t make use of the “WStart/Stop” button is anyone’s guess.The Wi-Fi functionality is OK, it is a bit slow in my experience. There is also no “known” Wi-Fi settings listed on the device’s settings so it just remembers the previous network it is connected to. It would be useful it it retained the settings for a number of networks to allow it to move between home, work and Mi-Fi adapter without having to repair the thing by the WPS button each time.As you can tell I mostly use my device over USB, its plug and play and fast. The built-in blank page detection is brilliant and the Brother iPrint & Scan software really is very good. This has a continuation feature so you can just keep stuffing pages into the feeder and they become one document. Automatic page rotation is also a good feature that works well as does deskew.The ability to insert a few pages at once would be nice but it isn’t worth sacrificing the extra size needed to support this. As a portable unit it would have been nice if it included even a cloth carrying case to stop it from being marked in my bag but this is an extra purchase.On th front of the feeder there is a peper guide for the feeder of the slidy piece of plastic type but there is no resistance to moving it so it is pointless. I may well gluee mine in position at somepoint.Despite these shortcomings it works well, the scans are good and it chewed through a massive backlog of scanning in a short period of time and will be taking up its place in my Office in a rucksack.
