Fit the caliper brackets perfectly on a 2009 Ford Ranger 4x4. I replaced rusted and almost stripped bolts with these.

These are not exact OEM for the early 2000-2005 Impala and Monte Carlo rear brake caliper brackets, but fit perfectly and work just as well. AC Delco has obviously consolidated some part numbers. They are essentially identical in form, fit and finish, except for the heads which are 15mm instead of 13mm. The smooth shank is slightly shorter but that's inconsequential. They're the exact same length, diameter and thread pitch. Discovered this when I grabbed the 13mm socket for the torque wrench and found it was too small. Tried the 14mm and it was too small. The 15mm fit the bolt head.Additional Information . . .These bolts are undoubtedly used in other applications, so this information ONLY applies to the 2000-2005 Impala and Monte Carlo REAR brake brackets. I used them on the rear brake brackets of a 2002 Impala LS. Other makes and models, including model years, will undoubtedly have different specs. Torque spec for the rear brake bracket bolts for those years and Chevy models is 85 ft-lb (the front are different and much higher). Do NOT ever use an impact wrench to put these on, but I do recommend using a 15mm 1/2" drive impact socket at that torque level. Standard 3/8" drive sockets under 19mm can split and break under higher torque above about 50 ft-lb. Impact sockets are much stronger, even the 3/8" drive, and especially the 1/2" drive. Most 3/8" drive torque wrenches top out at 75 ft-lb, necessitating a 1/2" drive torque wrench to get to 85 ft-lb with these bolts on those cars. Anyone who's ever shattered a socket wrench socket can attest to the pieces flying off at very high speed (another reason to always wear eye protection). Could be another reason AC Delco has 15mm heads on these instead of the 13mm found on the OEM bolts (the larger socket will be inherently stronger). The other torque specs for the REAR brakes on the 2000-2005 Chevy Impala and Monte Carlo are 32 ft-lb for the caliper guide pin bolts that hold the caliper onto the bracket, and 40 ft-lb for the brake hose banjo bolt that attaches the brake hose to the caliper. The caliper pin guide bolts in particular are often over-torqued on the rear brakes of these cars making them quite difficult to remove. Proper torque isn't only about getting them tight enough to prevent them from backing out under vibration, it's also about preventing undue stress on the fastener and threads, and being able to remove them later without having to use a torch and similar drastic methods. Bottom line: know the torque specs for your year, make and model vehicle, and use them. They're not just there for silliness, wusses and wimps.
